The Maggini Quartet, featuring Peter Donohoe, will open Portsmouth Festivities 2017

The Maggini Quartet will be performing at Portsmouth Cathedral for the Opening Concert. The evening features Peter Donohoe, world renowned pianist.

 

Opening up for the start of Portsmouth Festivities 2017, the Maggini Quartet will be performing at Portsmouth Cathedral on Friday 16 June, featuring world renowned pianist Peter Donohoe.

The Maggini Quartet is one of the finest British string quartets. Its acclaimed recordings have won international awards including Gramophone Chamber Music Award of the Year, Diapason d’Or of the Year, and a Cannes Classical Award, and have twice been nominated for Grammy Awards.

Performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, and Whitacre, the evening features Peter Donohoe, who has built an extraordinary world-wide career, encompassing a huge repertoire and over forty years’ experience as a pianist, as well as continually exploring many other avenues in music-making. He is acclaimed as one of the foremost pianists of our time, for his musicianship, stylistic versatility, and commanding technique.
