Your Chance to Take Part in Portsmouth Festivities 2016!

2016 marks the seventeenth anniversary of Portsmouth Festivities.  Following the introduction of a new Community Programme in 2014, the Community Programme 2015 was a great success with events being well received.

Every year, the Festivities celebrate the best of Portsmouth and offer creative individuals and organisations the chance to showcase their work.

This June 2015, Portsmouth Festivities featured 93 cultural activities and events, in partnership with 28 local venues and over 75 artistic and cultural organisations. In total the Festivities reached over 100,000 for 2015.

Once again the Festivities were able to attract artists and speakers of undisputed international standing – The Swingle Singers, Gillian Clarke, Stopgap Dance Company, Andy Mulligan,  Laura Van Der Heijden, The Peatbog Faeries, and the London Mozart Players to name but a few.

What’s more, Portsmouth Festivities 2015 provided over 14,000 opportunities for all sorts of creative people, both professional and amateur, to take part – from singers to visual artists.

We’re calling for organisations and individuals from the community to apply to put on an event as part of Festivities 2016.  It’s a fantastic chance to showcase new and existing talent within a Festival framework. It’s a wonderful opportunity within the City and it will increase our offer to deliver the best Festivities yet!

The theme for this year`s Festival is ELECTRIC. This does not mean that every application has to hold this theme as this would be unrealistic, but if it does then we could definitely guarantee some high voltage marketing.

Portsmouth Festivities 2016 will run between Friday 17 and Sunday 26 June.  If you would like to propose an event, contact the Festivities team at info@portsmouthfestivities.co.uk or visit portsmouthfestivities.co.uk/get-involved#take-part to download full terms and conditions and an application form. Deadline for entries Friday 11 December.
